So i know the company andbown one of their guitars which was given to me. I love this guitar, best acoystic i have ever, will ever play. I love its slightly beaton look.

Will post photos maybe tomorrow. My point is, does anyone know anything about their older guitars. Mine is a W.C delux which has schaller tuners and an inbuilt preamp. It is about 25-30 years old( not exactly sure but) i guess i just want to know more about it.

I know there hanmade in canada but want to know exaxtly when it was made, etc. Will post its serial and photo in the next few days, if that would help. Having lived in Indonesia for a few years now, a Simon and Patrick is about as good a guitar as you will find (although there is a Taylor shop in Jakarta) but I would encourage you to try a high end guitar when you have the chance. You may re-evaluate your best guitar ever judgement. Simon and Patrick are factory made (not hand made) in Canada and are excellent guitars for the money. In fact, I think pretty much all the Godin brands are great.

IIRC your guitar has a cedar top and laminated mahogany back and sides. Personally, I like spruce tops on steel string guitars but I know there are lots of people that like cedar. (I like cedar on nylon strings) I think they are good guitars for strumming and fingerpicking but find they don't have enough drive for flatpicking and bluegrass (my favourite acoustic guitar genres). From the factory they came with a plastic nut and saddle and replacing those with bone helps the tone a bit and a good luthier can change the break angle over the strings at the saddle which is often a little shallow. The pickup system works but wasn't as good as Takamines from the same era. Enjoy the guitar - it's a goodun. Mine is also a satin finish and the top seems kind of unfinished as it scratches and dents and chips super easy.

On the guitar it clearly states handmade in canada. Which led me to believe it was. And just so you guts know i didnt get this in indonesia. I got it from an older man in australia who i think got in eithet cabada or america. Ill check the serial when i get home to see what year it is. Also on the best guitar ive ever played thing.

I might play a better one in the future, but i doubt it. The best aciustic i could afford to buy would be nothing more than a cort or a bottom line takamine.

And for some reason, i just live the feel of a guitar that has been played for years and worn out.

Beginning in late 1935 and continuing to mid-1975, the archetypal instrument we think of when hearing the word 'organ' was produced by the thousands. With a production history covering more than forty years, determining the exact manufacturing date of tonewheel Hammonds used to be difficult; new models were not introduced every year and production changes that were made were often subtle. Recently, the production data was found and there is no longer any need for guessing. This information is being compiled, organized and edited into a soon to be released book that details all sorts of production and manufacturing information, including tables showing serial numbers and their date of production.

Some of the entries on the age list show actual known production dates and can be used as markers to guage the quality of other entries around them. Until this work is published, the Age List will continue to function more or less as it has; a quasi-definitive source of this information and a registry of Hammond and Leslie product owners. Thanks to the Electronics Industry Association (EIA) code conveniently placed on them by the manufacturer, many individual components can be dated to the year and week of production. Due to Hammond and Leslie purchasing components in large quantities, using these codes as definitive signposts will not produce an accurate 'born on' date.

However, by examining those components as a group one can determine that the instrument was produced no earlier than the latest date indicated by its component parts. In general, tubes appear to have had the shortest stock life and speakers the longest. Even the above is fraught with some risk, as replacement parts used for repair or modification will occasionally skew the overall picture.

Additionally, some organs have been pieced together in order to get one working unit out of many; this will produce inconsistent and unlikely date code ranges. All available information must be taken as a whole, and, combined with some general tips and observations provided below, a narrow range of probable production years can be arrived at which in many cases will be accurate enough for most people's desires.

One thing to remember in this chronological quest is these instruments were built to be played, not (in most cases) to become museum pieces. Don't get too hung up on searching for temporal coordinates to the exclusion of the unit's real purpose as a musical instrument. Methodology Some of the component parts of Hammonds and Leslies have EIA codes printed on them. What follows is a breakdown of the more common parts and a description of their codes. Some specific examples are cited that can be used to provide assistance in identifying the production date of similar components. Tubes Many tubes have a date code on them.

Tung-Sol 6550 tubes made for other companies (like ) have a four-digit date code only. Tubes with ' silk screened on them typically have a code consisting of two pairs of numbers separated by a dash. The format is YY-WW, where YY is the last two digits of the year and WW is the number of the week in that year. In the example, 73-48 is the 48th week of 1973.

Capacitors Many capacitors have a date code on them, but some do not. Most of the tone generator and capacitors do, as well as pre- and power amplifier multi-section electrolytic capacitors. Leslie Cabinets Inside each Leslie produced after 1956, on the lower baffle, is a (sometimes hidden by the bass speaker). Hindi cinema’s first genuine superstar who appeared in 15 consecutive hit films in the course of three years, Rajesh Khanna was born on December 29, 1942, in Amritsar, Punjab, as Jatin Khanna, and grew up with his foster parents Chunni Lal and Leela Wati. After seeing his performance in a play the chief guest suggested that he should try his luck in films — a piece of advice he took seriously. After completing his Bachelor’s in Arts from Pune when he made up his mind to become a film actor, he agreed to change his first name to Rajesh following his uncle’s suggestion. He went on to win a contest organised by United Producers and Filmfare magazine in 1965. As part of the prize he got to star in ‘Aakhri Khat’ (directed by Chetan Anand) and the Ravindra Dave-directed ‘Raaz’.

In ‘Aakhri Khat’ he played the role of a young sculptor who falls in love with Lajjo (Indrani Mukherjee) while holidaying in Kullu, marries her but they end up losing track of each other. In an interview to The Hindu in May 2011, Khanna recalled that his “most challenging” scene in ‘Aakhri Khat’, his debut film, was the last one where he is in a pensive mood in silence till he recognises his son. Chetan Anand would wake him up “with late night phone calls” to get the right look for the scene. It was, however, in ‘Raaz’ that he overcame his shyness of the camera and got his body language right, he later claimed. His contract with United Producers got him other films such as ‘Aurat’ and ‘Doli’. But Rajesh Khanna, the superstar, was perhaps born after the release of the 1969 film ‘Aradhana’, directed by Shakti Samanta and also starring Sharmila Tagore.
